What makes a volcano explode? How is static electricity produced? Why does a ping pong ball float and a penny sink in water? We invite all budding scientists to pick a science project and starting experimenting!

Participants choose a problem to study, formulate a hypothesis, conduct experiments at home, record data, draw conclusions and create an exhibit for the fair. Students will display their exhibits at the fair for friends, classmates and family to view. A real scientist will visit each display and discuss the project with students.

Interested in Participating?
All students K-5 are invited to participate on their designated night! Important note, families with children whose ages fall into both Science Fair evenings can register their children to participate on one evening. Click on the links to the right to register and for what to do, rules, resources, and FAQs.

Sharing Projects During School Day (New this year!)
This year, Bowman student scientists are invited to display their Science Fair projects during the school day following their Science Fair night, so that all students can view and learn about their classmates’ projects. We’ll post more information about this in January.

Visiting Scientists
Are you a scientist or do you know someone who is? We are looking for adult researchers and scientists to participate in the fair. Visiting Scientists will visit with a few student scientists during the fair, discuss the student’s project, and present the student with a certificate of achievement. Email if you are interested.
